How to draft a constitution in the XXI century? The Chilean Constitutional Convention

During the last years, Chile has experienced an intense period of social unrest that culminated in the approval of a Constitutional Convention, which started to work on July 2021. In this webinar, we assembled a panel of leading Chilean scholars to talk about the ongoing debates in the convention and what we can expect from it.


Speakers:

  • Gabriel Negretto is an Associated Professor of Political Science at the Pontificial Catholic University of Chile. He is an expert in comparative constitutional studies with an emphasis in Latin America.

  • Verónica Undurraga is an Associate Professor of Law at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. She is an expert in constitutional law, human rights and gender issues with emphasis on reproductive rights.

  • Jorge Contesse is an Associate Professor of Law at Rutgers University. He is an expert in international human rights and comparative constitutional law with an emphasis on Latin America and the inter-American human rights system.
